There is no setting marked everyone. There never was, for any system we have built. We are only now constructing one powerful enough to make the omission matter.
I'm not a capitalist. Don't believe GDP needs to be maximized. But I don't see AI as the ultimate destroyer of world harmony. There is no harmony now. And hasn't ever been in any age that I am remotely familiar with. As for power, I'd give the edge to a nuclear bomb over AI. And one demented old man holds that football.
What if wealth was distributed much more evenly? Would that change anything?

On wealth, I think it helps but doesn't fix it. Spread the money and you get more people the room. You still don't get a room big enough to hold everyone it affects, and whoever's left outside still ends up paying. The hope is spreading power should get to better outcomes for everyone
